The most famous beach in Thailand, which began to be known for a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, will be closed until 2021.
Maya Bay is a synonym for paradise, a small corner of Phi Phi Leh Island that can not be accessed for two years according to the country’s media. The Department of Thai National Parks made the decision to close the access to avoid the ecological destruction of this beach so visited.
The paradisiacal bay has been closed to be able to rejuvenate its coral and repair all the damage that tourism has caused in recent years. Since 2000, this beach became one of the most famous in the world when it appeared in the movie “The Beach”.
From the Thai National Parks service, they reported that they will limit tourists to step on the shores of Maya Bay. It should be noted that they have already begun to work on the rejuvenation of this hidden gem among huge cliffs.
We pray that these two years will be of great help to repair all the damage caused and to be able to return to this paradise the charm that characterizes it.
