Harris County Precinct 5 Officer Dies of Coronavirus

Houston, Texas – Harris County Precinct 5 Officer Mark Brown died Saturday night of the coronavirus.

Sheriff Ted Heap indicated that Brown had 23 years of service and spent the last three in this office. His career started with the Hempstead Police Department and then he spent 18 years of service as a Spring Branch ISD officer.

“Whether he was patrolling or investigating an unsolved case, he was a dedicated and hard-working officer who was only seeking to protect our residents and ensure that justice was served,” Sheriff Heap said.

Brown, 53, leaves behind his wife and four children. Funeral services are pending.

Constable Ted Heap and his entire staff are in mourning today over the passing of Precinct 5 Deputy Mark Brown. …
