Conroe, Texas – A Conroe family mourns the loss of an 11-year-old boy, Cristian Pavon, who died after his family’s home lost power.
The Pineda family assures that they had been without heating for 2 days, sleeping wrapped up in a mobile home due to the lack of electricity. The family lost power from Sunday night to Monday morning and still had no power on Monday night either.
Christian arrived in Texas a few days ago after his mother paid to be brought from Honduras to Houston so they could be together.
On Tuesday morning, the boy’s parents found him dead.
Investigators from the Conroe Police Department came to the home and remained at the scene until 8 p.m. Maria Elisa Pineda and Moreno had blood extracted, with authorities tracking them for drug use as part of the investigation.
The day before, Christian was playing happily in the snow. Finding him dead, the Pineda family immediately informed the authorities.
While waiting for the results of the autopsy to be able to look after him, his mother says that his wish is the repatriation of the body so that he can be in his country with his grandparents.
Cristian’s family has launched a GoFundMe to help send Cristian back to Honduras to see his grandparents one last time.
