China develops new space debris tracking system

The Chinese Satellite Launch Center (Xichang Satellite Launch Center) has announced the development of a new geographic positioning system, which can significantly reduce the time required to detect space debris.

This system proved effective in tracking down the missile carrier’s wreckage after the reported launch of the 54th BeiDou satellite in space (9 March).

This launch was made by a Long March-3B carrier rocket.

Using the above-mentioned system the center staff would only need 25 minutes to locate the missile launcher systems, whereas in the past it was possible to locate them after hours or even 15 days.

What do you think?
