Shooting in Center City Philadelphia leaves 3 injured

Three people were injured in a shooting in downtown Philadelphia. It happened around 11 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of South 13th Street, between Pine and Lombard.

Arriving officers found several bullet casings and several cars riddled with bullet holes.

Two victims of the shooting arrived at Jefferson University Hospital. A third victim who had been shot in the leg boarded a SEPTA bus.

The police detained the bus 23 and Lombard streets.

There is no information on a suspect or the motive for the shooting. All three victims are expected to survive.

This shooting came at the end of a violent weekend in Philadelphia that also included a 16-year-old boy who was shot.

The city’s new budget allocates nearly $ 156 million in anti-violence measures, of which $ 22 million will go to the Community Expansion Against Violence Grant Program. The program is designed to provide funds to organizations working to reduce violence in the city.

The homicide figure stands at 324, an increase of 25% compared to August 2020.
