Philadelphia, PA – Peaceful demonstrations in Philadelphia on Tuesday night to demand justice after the murder of Walter Wallace Jr. by two police officers were overshadowed as the second night of rioting and vandalism unfolded.
Philadelphia police are working to contain the looting and destruction of several commercial locations along Aramingo Avenue in the Port Richmond section of the north of the city.
Looters seized several businesses, in the images captured by Chopper 6 of our editorial partners in 6 ABC, several people can be observed entering and leaving the premises.
Among the stores looted are: Foot Locker, Burlington, Target, and Dollar General. Some could be seen with their hands full of merchandise, getting into cars before the police arrived.
The destruction continued at a Walmart store in the same area. Philadelphia police tweeted a warning to stay away from the area as a crowd of about 1,000 people was looting the area.

A large police presence was also seen at a Target store in Port Richmond.
Meanwhile, two teenagers are recovering at the hospital after a double shooting in Port Richmond. Police say this happened near Castor and Aramingo avenues around 8:45 p.m.
This is the same area where looting has occurred in the wake of the deadly police shooting of Walter Wallace Jr.
According to authorities, an 18-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm and a 15-year-old girl was shot in the side.
Both victims have been rushed to a nearby hospital where they appear in stable condition.
It is unclear at this time if the shooting was related to ongoing looting in the area.
