The specialized journalist Justin Barrasso, from the Sports Illustrated portal, has revealed exclusively a few hours ago that WWE to broadcast on television the matches that were planned for NXT TakeOver: Tampa, an event that had to be canceled due to sanitary measures against the coronavirus. WWE has already confirmed the news on its website and on its social networks.
The broadcast of the battles that should have taken place at the PPV will take place on the weekly NXT program, and will start on April 1. At the moment, WWE had only announced for TakeOver a ladder match to decide the next challenger to the NXT Women’s Championship, a fight for which Chelsea Gren, Mia Yim, and Tegan Nox had already qualified.
Other matches not announced but that seemed destined to take place at TakeOver were Adam Cole’s defense of the NXT Championship against Velveteen Dream and a match between Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano. Both rivalries have been building on the weekly NXT show since NXT TakeOver: Portland.
On the other hand, Sports Illustrated has revealed, as part of the same news, that Triple H will be present this week on NXT to make the announcement on television. So far, WWE has not announced any other segments or bouts for tomorrow’s episode of the Yellow Label show.
