Bad news for Samoa Joe. WWE has announced through a press release posted on its website that real superstar Samoa Joe has been suspended 30 days for violating the company’s welfare policy. The sanction became effective as of yesterday, February 24. This is the first infraction of Nuufolau Joel Seanoa, the real name of Joe. It has not been revealed in which substance it tested positive.
Last week, specialized journalist Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that the former US champion would have recently suffered an injury while he was recording an advertising spot for the company.
According to Satin, Joe was recording a segment for the announcement that required him to go through a table. However, the fighter hit his head in the process. The journalist added that Joe was expected to be away from the action for a considerable time.
Samoa Joe returned to action in early 2020 after recovering from a thumb break, helping Kevin Owens and The Viking Raiders in their rivalry with Seth Rollins, Buddy Murphy, and AoP.
However, he suffered a concussion during the Monday Night Raw episode of January 27, which took him a couple of weeks off, until he could return on February 8. The former NXT champion did not participate in the last two episodes of the red mark.
