Since Friday, for reasons of prevention against the pandemic of the Coronavirus Covid-19 in the world, WWE has made the choice to continue holding its various shows weekly, but in a confined space and without public. Therefore, the last SmackDown and RAW were held at the WWE Performance Center with the bare minimum of staff.
Despite lighter shows than usual, with very few matches and Superstars, audiences are there. As of Friday, WWE SmackDown was watched by 2.6 million viewers; up from the previous week. This episode of the blue show marked the return of Jeff Hardy and John Cena. The Elimination Chamber Match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship was also broadcast.
This Monday, on the side of the red show of the federation, WWE RAW was followed by 2.3 million viewers; the audience also up from last week. The broadcast of this year’s Royal Rumble Match for men and the return of Edge and Stone Cold Steve Austin for 3:16 Day made up for the three hours of the show.
The closed-door shows at WWE Performance Center will continue this week with NXT this evening, SmackDown this Friday and RAW Monday evening.
