Roman Reigns, The Miz and Andrade were all removed from Wrestlemania 36, which was recorded on Wednesday and Thursday. If Andrade was absent due to injury, Reigns and Miz both refused to participate in the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to PWInsider and Wrestling Inc, many other Superstars will not appear at Wrestlemania this year, but the reasons remain unclear for the majority. Among these Superstars are Paige, Jerry Lawler, Buddy Murphy, Cesaro and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Asuka.
As a reminder, Dana Brooke and Rey Mysterio are also excluded from the event and are currently in quarantine, at home, since they both have symptoms of COVID-19.
Regarding Paige, Lawler, Cesaro, and Asuka, the reason for their absence from Wrestlemania remains to be determined. Some may have fallen ill or refused to participate in the event, but nothing can be confirmed yet. Note that neither Paige nor Lawler were announced to appear in Wrestlemania.
Regarding Murphy, the reason for his absence from the Wrestlemania recordings is still to be determined, but PWInsider notes that the latter was supposed to participate in the last episode of RAW but was declared “unauthorized to participate” by the company’s doctors. Although he was not expected to wrestle at Wrestlemania, he was most likely to appear alongside Seth Rollins for his match against Kevin Owens.
