During the most recent episode of his School Of Morton podcast, the WWE Hall Of Fame member Ricky Morton revealed that he has been diagnosed with peripheral facial paralysis. According to Morton, he realized it on Tuesday morning, and what alarmed him most was the thought that it was indicative of something much worse. Here are his most important statements (transcript courtesy of Fightful):
“Last Tuesday, I got up and was preparing to go to the gym. I went downstairs and poured myself a cup of coffee. I noticed that the coffee was coming out of my mouth. It was something that scared me a lot. I ran to the bathroom and saw that my face looked disfigured. I thought I might be having a stroke. ”
“I went to the hospital and they explained that it was a situation caused by stress, but had a little peripheral facial paralysis. It seems that it is starting to happen a bit. I can close my eyes and start talking. I wanted to tell the world of wrestling that if you see me, don’t run away. I feel fine. Physically, I feel great. ”
Ricky Morton is one of the two members of The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express, and at 63 years of age, he continues to work as an active fighter. He recently competed on the NJPW tour The New Beginning In USA 2020, in January and February, and is also a regular member of the NWA cast, where he recently reigned alongside fellow Robert Gibson as NWA Tag Team Champion.
