NXT announces a new edition of the Dusty Rhodes tag team classic to be held in 2020

During the broadcast of the NXT show through the USA Network, it has been confirmed that the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will return to the yellow mark for the next year 2020. It was also announced that the teams that will compete in the tournament will be announced at the next show on January 1.

It is expected that tag teams such as The Forgotten Sons, Breezango, The Undisputed Era and some teams formed by other superstars, who do not usually team up, are part of the tournament of which the last winners were Aleister Black and Ricochet, who defeated in the finale to The Forgotten Sons.

Dusty Rhodes tag team classic

The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is an annual tournament for the tag teams that WWE produces under the NXT division. To date there have been four editions and the first winners of the tournament were Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe, who defeated Rhyno and Baron Corbin in the final. This year will be the fifth edition and there are still no details if the final will be played at a yellow mark show or the next Takeover.

The last edition of the tournament was held in 2019, with eight participating teams where the prize, in addition to the prestigious tournament, was an opportunity for the NXT tag team championships in the Takeover: New York special. It was also the first time where the entire tournament was held in the yellow mark shows and the finale did not end in a Takeover.
