On April 11, 2011, Edge broke the hearts of millions of fans around the world when he announced that he had to end his career due to a severe neck injury. Almost 9 years later, it seems that the WWE Hall of Famer is gradually heading back to the rings.
In October 2019, we learned that Edge had received the green light from WWE doctors for a return to competition while in December we learned that the Rated R Superstar had signed a very lucrative new contract with the WWE. Since then, rumors have accumulated and many sources agree that Edge will indeed be back on January 26 at the Royal Rumble 2020.
Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone explains in particular that a source close to WWE told them that Edge will return to the rings this year and that it is more than likely that it will be during the Royal Rumble match. According to this source, Edge could even enter the game very early on as a surprise participant.
According to Wrestling News, Edge would have a contract similar to that of Brock Lesnar and should only participate in major events, such as the Royal Rumble. Also, WrestleVotes made an allusion on Twitter about the return of Edge, by simply noting “So… You think you know me?”, In reference to the famous phrase spoken at the beginning of his input music.
You think you know me?
