During NXT broadcasts through the USA Network, it has been confirmed that Adam Cole will defend the NXT Championship against Tommaso Ciampa in TakeOver: Portland, the next WWE Network exclusive event.
Since returning to the yellow mark on October 2, 2019, Tommaso Ciampa has had only one goal in mind: to get back the NXT title. Ciampa and Adam Cole have remained in a constant rivalry that reached TakeOver: WarGames when the “The Blackheart” team defeated The Undisputed Era.
This week, Tommaso Ciampa applied an attack against Roderick Strong, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O’Reilly. As expected, this attracted the attention of Adam Cole, who decided to follow Ciampa to the arena. Behind him was William Regal with a contract that assured “The Blackheart” as the next challenger to the NXT Championship. After a brief stroll of which both ended up seriously injured, Ciampa crossed Cole’s body on a table and then signed the contract that Regal charged, making the official match for the next event.
NXT TakeOver: Portland will be held next Sunday, February 16 from the Fashion Center of Portland, Oregon, and can be viewed exclusively through the WWE Network.
