During the most recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio program, the specialized journalist Dave Meltzer has announced the new WWE policy in terms of allowing appearances of its superstars in independent events, and that is that no company can hire talent anymore WWE and All Elite Wrestling at the same time.

As Meltzer explained, this new rule by WWE applies not only to wrestling shows, which can no longer count on the same billboard with WWE and AEW stars but will also have an effect on any type of professional appearance of talent of the McMahon company, such as autograph signatures or convention appearances.

It should be noted that this is a rule imposed exclusively by WWE for all those promoters who want to have the presence of a superstar in their events, This means that, for the moment, it is unknown if there was also some kind of discomfort in the board from AEW because their stars shared billboards with WWE names.

In the program, Bryan Alvarez made reference to the Big Event convention that will be held next Saturday in New York, for which several WWE superstars and Matt Hardy were scheduled, who ended his contract with the company a few days ago. Alvarez explained that Hardy had to be removed from the event for his alleged arrival at AEW, but the event promoter has denied this detail in the story.

Alvarez’s mistake was based on the fact that, apparently, Hardy had been removed from the convention website. However, it seems that, despite its appearance being announced, Hardy was never added to the website. In addition, Terry Funk, who according to Alvarez was Hardy’s replacement, was announced from the outset.

Matt Hardy himself has confirmed through his Twitter account that his participation in The Big Event is still standing. Hardy ended his contract with WWE on March 1, and since then, he has published an episode of his Free The DELETE series with the participation of The Young Bucks, which many interpreted as an indication of his long-rumored arrival at AEW. However, there is still nothing official about it.

What do you think?
