Ring of Honor (ROH) Wrestling has confirmed the return of the War of the Worlds tour with a new edition for next May. ROH will count again for the seventh consecutive year with the collaboration of New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) for the realization of four events with stars of both companies.
The tour will begin on Wednesday, May 6 from the Buffalo RiverWorks in the city of Buffalo, New York. The next day, Thursday, May 7, there will be a show from the Ted Reeve Arena in Toronto, Canada.
On Saturday the 9th they will make an event from the Wings Event Center in the city of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Finally, the tour will conclude with an event on Sunday, May 10 from the Odeum Expo Center in Chicago, Illinois.
This announcement reaffirms the labor relationship between ROH and NJPW, which will continue to work together in upcoming shows. Several NJPW wrestlers such as Jay White, KENTA or Will Ospreay will travel on April 4 to Tampa, Florida, to participate in Supercard of Honor XIV, in addition to the appearance of talents like Rocky Romero during the tournament to crown the new ROH Pure Champion.
It should be remembered that the alliance between ROH and NJPW dates back to 2014, materializing in the First War of the Worlds event that was held that same year since the Hammerstein Ballroom. After that, it has remained a regular tour in the ROH calendar, with meetings between both companies. Last year there were duels like Jay Lethal against Satoshi Kojima, Guerrillas of Destiny against The Briscoes or Shane Taylor winning the TV Championship against Jeff Cobb, Hirooki Goto, and Brody King.
