National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) continues to make announcements for its next Pay-Per-Vision (PPV) event, “Crockett Cup 2020“. In this week’s episode of “The Circle Squared,” Sean Mooney has confirmed the date and venue for the company’s next big show. Crockett Cup will take place on Sunday, April 19 from the Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
NWA announced a new edition of the show during the Hard Times on January 24. So far it was only known that the Crockett Cup was going to take place in April, without specifying more details. The Gateway Center Arena is a pavilion of interest to the company, as it can hold 3,500 viewers with a configuration for basketball games and 5,000 viewers for concerts.
For now, the configuration that NWA will decide to take for the show is unknown, as tickets will go on sale from February 28, with one day advance to those subscribed to its newsletter.
On Wednesday, February 26, there will be a press conference from the Gateway Center with NWA President Billy Corgan, along with Nick Aldis and Marty Scurll.
The show will star in defense by the NWA World Heavyweight Championship between Nick Aldis and Marty Scurll. The fight has a special stipulation: in case of losing, “The Villain” must pay half a million dollars to Aldis. In addition, there will also be a new edition of the Crockett Cup, the company’s team competition. The 2019 edition was won by PCO and Brody King, who also won the NWA World Tag Team Championships.
