During the transmission of the NWA Hard Times PPV, Stun Bennett announced that a new edition of the classic tournament, the Crockett Cup, will be held, which will see a new edition in 2020. It will be held in April in an undisclosed location that will be much larger than the physical spaces that the previous promoter’s events were held.

The tournament will be named Jim Crockett Senior, in homage to the main promoter of the Mid-Atlantic territory on the glory days of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and in the coming days will announce the tag teams that will participate in the event.
The Crockett Cup was an annual tournament from 1986 to 1988, with only four editions (not counting the 2018 version made by the independent company Premiere Wrestling Xperience). The competition was formed by 24 teams and was developed under a classic direct elimination format. The winner usually receives a trophy and a monetary prize (in kayfabe) of one million dollars.
The winners of previous editions of the Crockett Cup were The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk), The Super Powers (Nikita Koloff & Dusty Rhodes), the team formed by Lex Luger & Sting and last year was won by Brody King and PCO. Also, in 2019 a match between Nick Aldis against Marty Scurll was ruled out for the NWA world heavyweight championship where Aldis had retained his title.
