Jon Moxley becomes the new IWGP United States Champion

Jon Moxley is the new IWGP United States Champion. Moxley won against Lance Archer in a violent Texas Death Match on the first day of Wrestle Kingdom, the biggest event in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). In a battle where all kinds of objects were used, from chairs to a barbed helmet, Moxley managed to apply the Death Driver on two ringside tables, injuring Archer enough that he could not get up before the count of ten.

Jon Moxley thus obtained his second IWGP Championship of the United States, having had to vacate it the first time since he could not participate in King of Pro Wrestling 2019. On that date, Lance Archer took the title by beating Juice Robinson in a fight without disqualification, and since then he managed to defend it only once successfully against David Finlay.

On the second day of Wrestle Kingdom 14, tomorrow, Sunday, January 5, Jon Moxley will defend the IWGP United States Championship against Juice Robinson, fulfilling the match they had previously agreed upon.
