In this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Nyla Rose has defeated Riho to become the new AEW Women’s World Champion. Rose has finished the reign of 133 days and four successful defenses of Riho, thus becoming the second women’s champion of the company and the first intergender wrestler to obtain a world championship.
Both superstars have starred in a match that has been praised by both fans and critics. In the final stages, Riho has tried to take the victory after three Diving Foot Stomps, but Nyla was able to get rid of the count of three by being able to place her leg under the ropes. In this way, Riho was forced to try Somato, his finisher, but Nyla reversed him in a Spear and was able to finish off with the Beast Bomb to take the victory.
After the match, AEW President Tony Khan hugged Nyla Rose in changing rooms. In addition, a sad Kenny Omega for the defeat of his friend hugged Nyla and wished him good luck in his reign. However, the first words of “The Native Beast” as champion were threats to the rest of the women’s division.
Nyla Rose got the starting opportunity due to her leadership in the women’s division ranking, strengthening her position after a recent victory against Big Swole. For his part, Riho came to defend his championship against Kris Stadtlander on January 8 in the Anniversary edition of AEW Dynamite.
