Once again, the latest episode of AEW Dynamite surpassed that of WWE NXT in the Wednesday evening audience race. With a pre-taped show since Chris Jericho’s “Rock N ‘Wrestling Rager at Sea” cruise, the AEW taped an average of 871,000 viewers, 13% more than NXT and its 769,000.
Dynamite is still down 7% from the 940,000 viewers taped during the special episode “Bash at the Beach” last week. Regarding NXT, the yellow brand is up 10% compared to the 700,000 viewers received on the USA network last week.
From a classification point of view, AEW Dynamite climbs to the 40th place of the most viewed programs on cable while NXT ranks 42nd. In the 18-49 age group, AEW Dynamite manages to consolidate its good performances by the ranking eighth (0.35) while NXT only manages to grab thirty-fifth place (0.24).
AEW continues to gain in rating in 2020.
AEW outperformed NXT by 46% in the demographic group 18-49, as it scored 0.35, while NXT scored 0.24 in the same show this week. Last week’s AEW program earned a rating of 0.38, while the NXT episode scored 0.21 in that demographic.
The NBA game between the Pelicans and the Spurs on ESPN led the night in the demographic group 18-49 on the Cable Top 150 with a rating of 1.01, but only 2,357 million viewers. Hannity led the night on cable in the audience with 4,246 million viewers, ranking #6 in the Cable Top 150 with a rating of 0.37 in the demographic group 18-49.
