The AEW will soon have a secondary title for its male roster, a title of TV champion, or almost.
The All Elite Wrestling indeed announced via a press release this Monday evening the creation of a second solo title: the “TNT Championship”, named after the chain which broadcasts AEW Dynamite every Wednesday evening. The first TNT champion will be determined through a tournament.
“It has been a privilege to work with Kevin Reilly and TNT to provide fans with the best live wrestling show week after week with AEW Dynamite, especially in these tumultuous times,” said Tony Khan, President of AEW. “I am happy to now be able to announce the creation of the TNT championship. The very first titleholder will be determined at the end of an unforgettable tournament that the fans will not want to miss and that our wrestlers will be keen to win. ”
The elimination tournament in which eight wrestlers from the promotion will participate will take place from April 8 to May 23 next for the final, the date of AEW Double or Nothing 2020 which is to take place in Las Vegas.
The eight participating wrestlers are not yet known.
