New York – The baby’s mother called police and told them she had given birth but could not find her son, authorities said.
According to police, the newborn was found dead in a dump on Coney Island.
The police responded to a call from a woman who claimed to have given birth to a child but could not provide information about the child’s whereabouts.
After searching the area, police found an unconscious and unresponding child in a dump in the parking lot of 2925 W. 27th St. on Wednesday just before 5 p.m.
The mother told investigators that she gave birth to the baby a few days ago and threw it in the garbage.
A forensic doctor is investigating the cause of the baby’s death.
