PORTER, Indiana – They are investigating the causes of the explosion in a house in Porter, Indiana that left at least 7 people injured.

The incident occurred around four in the afternoon in the 400 N. 1st block. St. Porter Fire Chief Jay Craig said that when they arrived at the home they found several people trapped including a child under 3 but fortunately they were able to rescue them.

The seven rescued were transferred to different hospitals in the area. Until now, no more details have been released about her health condition, age, or family ties.

The NIPSCO gas company had to shut down gas service on the block while fighting the fire. The house suffered damage to the entire structure making it uninhabitable.
