A Chicago police officer and two federal agents were shot and wounded Wednesday morning on the Southwest Side, authorities said.
The police officer and two officers from the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives were injured shortly before 6 am.
There were conflicting reports on where it happened. Firefighters said he was outside the 22nd District Police Station at 1900 W. Monterey Ave.
However, police officers indicated that it happened when the three officers were in a car entering Interstate 57 near 119th Street.
Police are searching for a white Chevrolet Malibu that they believe was used in the shooting.
Authorities said one of the federal agents was shot in the hand and the other suffered a scratch on the head, but it is unclear whether that agent was hit by broken glass or a bullet. The policeman suffered a shoulder injury.
All three were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where they are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
