You go to bed at ten
Getting enough sleep is important to staying healthy. This is why healthy people attach so much importance to slipping under the covers at an early stage. Research has concluded that it is best for your health to go to bed between 10 pm and midnight.
You take a deep breath
Breathe. Don’t you feel much more relaxed just thinking about the word? Thanks to yoga and meditation, it is no longer a secret that breathing pays off for health. Targeted breathing reduces anxiety and stress, regulates blood sugar, and ensures a strong immune system.
Healthy people consciously do a few breathing exercises every day. Read here how to breathe properly in every situation. And did you know that you can help you fall asleep better by breathing well before you go to bed?
You are social
Healthy people like to be in contact with others. They need it like the air to breathe. Research shows that people who have a lot of contact with other people are happier, healthier, better at dealing with stress and live longer.
What healthy people still like to do: go outside. A walk with your best friend, a meeting in a cafe, a bike ride: being in the fresh air is a must for healthy people! Because here you get your portion of vitamin D, which is important for strong bones and our mental health.
You cook yourself
Ready-made pizzas and canned food are rarely on the table in healthy people. They put a lot of emphasis on cooking something tasty (and of course healthy) every day. Mainly because they know that ready-made products, but also fast food dishes, usually contain far too many preservatives, sweeteners, or the like that do not fit into their healthy lifestyle. If, on the other hand, the food is fresh and self-prepared, healthy people retain control over the ingredients.
This helps to maintain a healthy weight and prevent chronic diseases (such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure). What healthy people like to eat, by the way: nuts. Among other things, they protect against cardiovascular diseases, strengthen eyesight and the activity of the brain.
Healthy people like to laugh. Why? Because laughter makes you happy and lowers your stress level. And did you know: Laughing deep inside your stomach also burns calories.
You’re not trying to just sit
Healthy people have a habit when it comes to long periods of sitting. You avoid it! Stairs instead of an elevator, going to a colleague instead of picking up the phone or doing little fitness exercises under the office desk: healthy people keep fit with these little everyday movements! A mini workout for the office can be found here.
