Authorities on the Georgia coast confirmed that human remains they found belong to a teenager reported missing.
The Chatham County Police Department said an autopsy Thursday determined the remains found Sept. 19 in the county woods are those of Donald Jones, 15, of Savannah.

Jones’s mother told officers she last saw her son at her home on Sept. 18 and that she expected him to stay at her grandmother’s home, according to a missing person report from the Savannah Police Department filed on Monday. September 21, The Associated Press reported.
The remains were found in a wooded area by people walking through the area.
Chatham County Police detectives are investigating the case as a homicide. The cause of death has not yet been revealed.
