Atlanta, Georgia – A spokesman for the Atlanta Police Department said they responded to a call around 1:48 p.m. Wednesday and found the boy unconscious with what appeared to be gunshot wounds behind a house in a creek near Shirley Street. SW in the Cascade Road neighborhood.
“The boy was reported missing Tuesday night at 8:45 p.m. Some family members said the boy was last seen at 3 p.m. near his grandmother’s house, ” said Maj. D’Andrea Price of Atlanta Police Department.
Later his grandmother, Glenda Mack, said “he was a good boy… he told me ‘Grandma, I’m going to my friend’s house'” , she also said David left around 3pm on Tuesday to play soccer.
Family members said they found Mack’s body only a quarter of a mile from his house, they don’t know who the boy was with or who would have shot him.
Police said they receive many reports from different people who heard the gunshots. They said they would return to the scene to speak to possible witnesses.
