The Kitakyushu Contemporary Art Center offers a scholarship program for young artists and researchers interested in art, healing, design, and architecture.
Kitakyushu is a Japanese city located in the territory of Fukuoka, on the island of Kyushu. This city is halfway between Tokyo and Shanghai. Without a doubt, a unique destination to live during a season in Japan.
The scholarship program of the Kitakyushu Contemporary Art Center will be held from September 2020 until the end of March 2021.
Each individual is required to stay and work in Kitakyushu for a few months, consecutively or intermittently, for the period of time indicated above.
The scholarship covers travel expenses and also offers a remuneration of JPY 200,000 (about 1820 USD) in addition to another allowance for housing expenses.

To qualify for these scholarships, you must meet the following requirements:
- Curator: work experience in the area of contemporary art or degree in art/art history.
- Designer/architect: work experience managing a private office or participating in equivalent activities.
For both positions, you cannot exceed 40 years of age.
