CHICAGO, Illinois. – State health officials report that this Wednesday 862 new cases of coronavirus and 10 additional deaths.
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, (IDPH), there have been 146,613 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 7,014 related deaths in the state as a whole.
Illinois nearly set another record in the past 24 hours, with 33,836 test results returned to state labs. That brings the total number of state tests to 1,734,471 during the pandemic.
The recovery rate, (defined as the percentage of patients who do not report symptoms six or more weeks after their positive test), remains 94 percent.
The local Department of Public Health issued an order with very clear guidelines for all people who come from certain states with destinations in the so-called Capital of the Midwest. The states are Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississipi, North Carolina, Nevada, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah.
The mandatory quarantine begins on Monday, July 6, and includes fines of up to $ 500 per day for those who violate the official order.
