Two people died this Saturday after registering for a traffic collision in Fayetteville.

Fayetteville police said the accident occurred just before 1 p.m. on the 1600 block of Gillespie Street.

Upon arrival, officers said Regis Harris, 31, of Hope Mills was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver, Katie Hayward, 90, of Fayetteville, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she later died of her injuries.

The Police requested that information about the accident be reported to 910-818-1872.
